Yuzu Kyuri Sweet Chilli Sauce

I bought 4 boxes of cold steamed char siew rice, aka "fan choy", for my family next day breakfast. However, the seller was unable to provide us packed sweet chilli sauce. How to eat the steamed char siew rice without the chilli?? 😓 No worry, I would find my way 😉 Instead of plain sweet chilli sauce, I added honey yuzu, lime juice, Japanese cucumber, green coriander and roasted sesame seeds to it. I not only have a more flavorful chilli sauce, but also included some green dietary fiber into the originally fiber-lack dish 😄

Ingredients

2 tbsp kyuri/Japanese cucumber cubes
1 tsp coriander leaves, chopped
1 small lime

2 tbsp sweet chilli sauce
1 tsp honey citron tea/yuzu honey

some roasted sesame seeds

You can adjust the quantity of each ingredient according to your preference

Directions

1. Remove the seeds and cut the kyuri or Japanese cucumber into small cubes.
Chop green coriander into fine bits. Extract the juice from one small lime. Set aside.

2. Mix sweet chilli sauce, honey citron tea/yuzu honey, and juice from 1 small green lime in a bowl.

3. Mix the kyuri/Japanese cucumber cubes, chopped green coriander into the yuzu-chilli paste. Finally, sprinkle some roasted sesame seeds and mix well.

4. Ready to be served with your hot steamed char siew rice/Fun Choy 😋
