Yield: about 50g candied orange peel + 30g orange syrup
Ingredients
50g orange peel
200g water for blanching
100g water for preparing the syrup
40g raw sugar
Directions
1. Wash an orange with Vegetable & Fruit wash before peeling the skin with a peeler.
2. Blanch the orange peel in 200g of hot water for about 5 minutes to remove the bitter taste. Drain away the water.
3. Pour 100g of water,
and 40g raw sugar to cook with the orange peels.
Bring to a boil, and simmer for about 30 minutes with lid on. Stir occasionally
Remove the lid, turn up the heat slightly, stir to dry the syrup faster for about 5 to 10 minutes.
Let the content cool down.
4. Transfer to a clean container and store in fridge till needed 😊
