Avocado Milkshake with Palm Sugar Syrup

The smooth avocado milkshake is sweetened by adding palm sugar syrup (also known as gula melaka syrup). The palm sugar syrup not only lend sweetness to the plain avocado milkshake, but also added a slight nutty flavour to it :)

Ingredient
50g gula melaka/palm sugar
15~20g hot water

1 ripe avocado
200g cold low fat milk
100g ice cubes

Direction
1. Chop palm sugar/gula melaka chunk into tiny bits.

2. Add 15~20g of hot water and heat up over the stove till the sugar melts. Stir regularly. Set aside to cool down.
If the syrup becomes hard after cooling down, just add about 1 tsp of hot water to return it to a smoother state.

3. Blend avocado, low fat milk and ice cubes together till smooth.

4. Pour an equal amount of palm sugar syrup into 4 cups. Then pour an equal amount of avocado milkshake into the cups.

5. Stir and enjoy :)

    1. Hi Cathy, you need to look for those dark brown colour ones. Use your thumb to press lightly on the shell, if the shell is slightly soft then most likely the avocado is just nicely ripen. If the shell is hard and green, most likely you need to keep it for a few more days before it can be consumed :)
